Groups Push Climate March

ICN, Democracy Now! and Grist Publicize Upcoming Climate Marches

A trio of liberal foundation-funded journalism outlets touted upcoming plans for climate marches against the Trump administration.

InsideClimateNews (ICN), a climate alarmist focused journalism website, published the most about the “People’s Climate March” to “protest President Trump’s agenda of attacking climate action and promoting fossil fuel development.”  The climate site cited “climate activist” Bill McKibben of 350.org who claimed the march was “to show the election didn’t cancel physics.”

The website for People’s Climate March declared “We Resist, We Build, We Rise” and bills the event as a “march for jobs, justice and the climate.”

ICN also tweeted out Science magazine’s story about the separate, upcoming march of “empiricists.”

Liberal foundations (Grantham Foundation, Park Foundation, Marisla Foundation and the Rockefeller Brothers Fund and Rockefeller Family Fund) donated more than $2 million combined to ICN between 2012 and 2015.

ICN said the “progress” of the climate movement (defeating Keystone XL, getting the Paris agreement) “has been stopped dead with the election of Trump.” But said, the president’s actions were “energizing the movement.”

Grist.org told people to “mark your calendars” for the “March for Science” on April 22 and also announced the “People’s Climate March” scheduled for April 29 — “exactly 100 days into Trump’s presidency.” That left-wing environmental site was funded by the Schmidt Family Foundation, Grantham Foundation and Rockefeller Brothers Fund.

Democracy Now! also announced that a “coalition of environmental and climate justice organizations” called for the People’s Climate March.
